All our guided powder packages require the use of an avalanche safety pack (digital transceiver, probe, and shovel). If you don’t have your own, they are included in our 5-Day package or available for immediate rental for the 7-Day and 10-Day expeditions.
You’ll not be guided by standard ski instructors. Our backcountry packages utilize senior local freeride guides with over a decade of experience tracking the specific storm cycles and avalanche behaviors of Mount Apharwat.
If high winds or avalanche controls close the upper Gondola (Phase 2), your guides will pivot to lower-mountain skinning, Phase 1 tree runs, or the massive 12 km descent into Baba Reshi, so you never waste a day on the snow.

You don’t need to be a professional freerider, but you must have solid off-piste experience. You should be comfortable navigating deep, ungroomed powder and steep tree runs. If you’re a beginner, we highly recommend our standard 7-day private course instead.
For advanced backcountry riders, we always recommend bringing your own boots for optimal comfort. If you don't want to fly with heavy, hard gear, our Global Ski Shop rents premium wide-waist powder skis and freeride snowboards.
Lift tickets are included in your package, but the Gondola’s operation is strictly dictated by mountain weather and safety authorities. If Phase 2 is closed due to heavy storms (which is when the snow is best!), we ride the incredible tree lines lower down the mountain.
Yes. Because Gulmarg is a remote, high-altitude destination, all powder guests must purchase comprehensive travel insurance that specifically covers off-piste/backcountry skiing and emergency helicopter evacuation.

We offer free date modifications or full refunds for cancellations made up to 21 days before your arrival. Cancellations made within 20 days incur a tiered fee to cover non-refundable hotel and guide deposits.
